WineUp Developer Center
One of the strategic goals at WineUp is to provide free and open access to wine data to anyone who wishes to use it.
To support that goal we created the WineUp API. The WineUp API gives software developers constructive access to our wine data. Our first practical goal is to offer sufficient access for someone to write a custom WineUp search plugin for their site. Later we'll add the ability to submit information to WineUp - this will include things like adding new wines, adding label images, adding tasting notes, and reporting errors in the data.
If you have any API requests or feedback please shoot an email to developers@WineUp.com and we'll try to accomodate your request. Although the API is just getting started, the initial methods won't change barring exceptional circumstances.
FAQ
When will the developer program be open to all developers?
We're currently in a closed beta with a handful of developers. As the kinks are worked out we'll open it up to more. If you have a good reason why we should include you right now please send an email to developers@WineUp.com. We might just add you in!
Are there limits on API usage? How many requests can I make?
We don't have a formal policy about this yet. If you're going to be making a high volume of requests, just let us know ahead of time and make sure it's ok.
